I want to hit some one or somthing because.....
I am MAD! And that is the understatement of the year! I cannot believe that The Rena has run aground at the mount on a reef that is very well documented and so close to the top of the water you can see the waves breaking on it. What kind of fool pilots a ship straight into a fucking rock that everyone knows is there?
Now as a result some of the best recreational fishing and swimming in New Zealand has been polluted beyond using this spring. The resulting damage that the oil is doing to our ecosystem is so catastrophic for our little country that I cannot begin to put it into word. Penguins and other sea birds are washing up along the shore line so covered in oil that they can no longer swim or fly. Even though there is a team working to get these birds back into good condition, if they keep washing up at the rate they already are there is no way we will be able to save them all. And it’s only going to get worse.
Whoever sent that ship to our shores needs to, and will PAY!
On the news tonight it was reported that inspections in both china and Australia saw the ship had issues in several areas including substandard maps. So my question is this: What on god’s green (or not so much at this point) was that ship doing in our water never mind on the sea at all in that state?
It is going to cost a lot of money, and a lot of time, to restore our coastline back to a useable state. My children and I spend hours upon hours at this particular beach every summer, fishing and swimming. Now due to the incompetence of one or more people we have lost the use of one of our most treasured places to spend family time fishing for snapper for dinner and building sand castles.
The worst part is if more oil escapes the ship we could be facing years of lost fishing and shell fish collecting that we as a family and as individuals look forward to every year.
What I would like to say to the people responsible is not publishable but…

short story #2
The Home Coming
Jaqulline sat on the window seat looking out at the preparations for Harrison’s grand home coming party. The caters were putting the final touches on the outdoor tables and the decorators were placing the banners over the gate way. The guests would be arriving soon and she would need to go down to greet them with Mother and Father.
‘Harriette, fetch me my gloves’ she told her lady. As Hariette found her gloves Jacqueline stood in front of her full length mirror and looked over her gown once more, she wished Harrison could have helped her pick it out but she knew her would have loved it any way. Her hair had been piled up and set in a beautiful masterpiece atop her head. She fingered the locked Harrison had given her before she left, he had handed it to her saying he loved her and would she wait until he came home. She opened it and looked lovingly into the eyes of the man she had loved so dearly from the moment she had met him.
‘ma’am. Your gloves’ Hariette had returned and Jacqueline snapped out of her memories with a start, how she longed to see Harrison again, look deep into his eyes, feel the warmth of his lips on hers.
‘Come, Jacqui,’ Hariette prompted ‘let’s get these gloves on.’ She helped Jacqueline into her gloves and fixed the veil over her eyes. ‘Your mother and Father are waiting for you in the entrance way.’
Her parents greeted her in the front room and lead her to the door to greet the first of the first of the guests, Harrison’s Mother and Father. They took her into their arms and gave her the warmest of hugs. More guests had arrived and needed her attention; she turned from parents with a tear in her eye. Harrison’s home coming would be emotional to say the least. People had taken their seats and the trumpeter had begun to play. Jacqueline stood and looked down the path towards the procession that would bring Harrison back to her.
She was glad of the veil that Hariette had fixed over her face earlier as tears streamed down her face. Tears of joy and frustration mixed into a river of overwhelming sadness. She turned and ran toward her love as she heard a whisper behind her: ‘that trumpeter plays a very good funeral march, doesn’t he.’

RIP Sasha:(
Yesterday my cat was run over right out side my house. the stupid animal didnt even see the car coming. luckly the kids had just gone inside and didnt see it happen.
Kidlet number 1 (age 5) was totally beside herself when she relised what had happened, but big ups to the step kidlet (who is seven), she took kidlet #1 inside and hugged her telling her it would be ok and that they would need to make sure Saydee (Sashas sister) would be looked after and given lots of cuddles. Kidlet #2 (age 2) doesnt get it at all but knows sashas not coming back. Im very proud of the step kidlet though. she took it all very welll and looked after the twop littlies like a pro.
Also I would like to thank mike (the driver) for stopping. He brought her in off the road and lay her behind the fence, he was very considerste and helped my husband and i to keep the kids inside and sort out taking her up behind the garage to be buried. not a lot of people would have even stopped never mind been so nice and considerate of me and the kids.
Thank you Mike, from all of us.
And the SPCA will be getting a visit very soon! I cant stand only having one cat :)

zebra brag
So this is lil zebra, I still need to make 1 and 1/2 legs and attach them and finish the mane.
I followed the pattern for the perfect pony (from http://www.ravelry.com/) for the head but made up the body and neck to make it more cartoony. The legs are from the pattern as well but I made the slightly fatter and a bit longer.
Enjoy LSG hookers. more finioshed project pics to follow.

This is my one and only tat and I wnted to explin its meaning to all you people.
I have three dragon flys tattooed on my ankle. one is a large one with swirly bits coming off the head and tail. that represents me and the swirls all the changes and different paths my life has taken so far. the other two dragonflys are smaller and pink, they are my two daughters and they are flying in the path behind the bigger dragonfly. that is supposed to show them following in the path ive beaten but they are also off to each side slightly to show they are free to choose their own paths as well. I plan to add another green one to represent my step daughter, she will fly next to my dragon fly to show that i am guiding her but by no means expect her to follow me. I left ample room to add a blue one one day wink wink husband…
